Webber won't dwell on 2010

Mark Webber says that he won't dwell on the 2010 championship decider when he returns to Abu Dhabi this weekend.

Webber was second behind Fernando Alonso going in to the final round last season, and would have become champion if he won the race and Alonso didn't finish second. However, a disappointing qualifying forced him to take an aggressive race strategy, and he got stuck behind Alonso and Vitaly Petrov to finish eighth as his team-mate Sebastian Vettel snatched the title with victory.

After Alonso admitted that his return to Abu Dhabi would "be a bit uncomfortable", Webber wrote in his BBC  column that some emotions would be stirred, but that he didn't see it as the place he lost the title.

"I saw that Ferrari team principal Stefano Domenicali had said that Abu Dhabi would be a tough race for their driver Fernando Alonso, because it's where he lost the championship last year to Seb," Webber said. "The same could be said for me. If you remember, going into that race last year, Fernando was leading the championship, I was second and Seb was third. But things went Seb's way, and not mine or Fernando's.

"That might have been the race where the championship was finally handed over, but it was - and is - won and lost at lots of venues around the world, so we're not going to get too hung up on what happened at one track."

Webber also said that all the previous memories would be forgotten as soon as he got in the car for FP1.

"There will obviously be some emotion - that's the case everywhere we go because all tracks have memories. It was obviously a disappointing time for me after the race last year, for example. But I won't be dwelling on that - and I'm sure Fernando won't either. Once you get in the car, all that has gone and you just enjoy driving again."
