Real Madrid's Alvaro Arbeloa: We are not thinking about Barcelona - Goal.com

Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa has made it clear that his side's focus is on their own performances rather than on how their rivals, such as Barcelona and Valencia, perform in La Liga.
Los Blancos currently hold a three-point lead over Barca and have a game in hand, but the Spain international is not getting carried away, warning that there is plenty of the season left to play.

"I am not thinking about what Barcelona do. I don't have time for them. I have plenty to think of at Madrid. We should not look at Barcelona, Valencia or any other team," Arbeloa told AS.

"The season is still long. We have to be patient, because there are many more games to be played. We have not won La Liga yet and still have a long way to go. It's not important how many points we're ahead right now."

Madrid's next match is the away game against Sporting Gijon on December 3.

Every Friday through to January, Goal.com will publish extracts from Graham Hunter's highly-anticipated book, 'Barca: The Making of the Greatest Team in the World'. Friday's second extract was about how Joan Laporta and Sandro Rosell used David Beckham as a vote-winner in the club elections of 2003, even though a deal was already done between Manchester United and Real Madrid.
