Ronaldo misses training - SkySports

Real Madrid have revealed that forward Cristiano Ronaldo picked up an ankle injury during their derby victory over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

The Spanish giants made the announcement on Tuesday and added that the 26-year-old missed training because of the problem and "stayed indoors".

"Cristiano Ronaldo has a Grade I sprain and a contusion on the left ankle. Treatment: Medical. Physiotherapy," reads a statement on Real's official website.

Ronaldo suffered the injury from a challenge by Luis Perea during Los Blancos' comprehensive 4-1 win against Atletico in the Madrid derby .

The Portugal international scored two penalties and created a goal for Angel Di Maria at the Santiago Bernabeu to help Real stretch their lead at the top of the Primera Liga table to six points after 13 matches.
