With just one point between them after four Champions League games, both Germany's Borussia Dortmund and Olympiakos of Greece need a win on Wednesday to keep their Champions League dreams alive.

While Jurgen Klopp-coached Dortmund opened their Group F campaign with a 1-1 draw at home to Arsenal and a 3-0 defeat in Marseille, Olympiakos have lost both their games so far as they prepare to host the Germans.

A 1-0 loss at home to Marseille last month was followed up by a 2-1 defeat at Arsenal and Olympiakos' Spanish coach Ernesto Valverde knows his team must pick up at least a point to have any chance of making the knock-out stages.

"The hard work needs to be done by us," said Valverde.

"These are really difficult times.

"We know that in the game against Dortmund, our fans will pack the stadium.

"They will be on our side. But it is going to be a very tough game."

Valverde says he is optimistic after seeing promising signs in the defeat by Arsenal in north London, but the Greeks have injury problems.

Midfielder David Fuster suffered a rib fracture during the 1-1 draw against AEK Athens on Saturday in the Greek Super League and will be out for both Wednesday's game and the return leg at the start of November.

Valverde has additional concerns with Greek defender Vasilios Torosidis and Serbian midfielder Ljubomir Fejsa both doubtful after the duo picked up knocks during recent Euro 2012 qualifiers.

Dortmund's Paraguay striker Lucas Barrios is doubtful after picking up an injury in training on Monday, while defender Patrick Owomoyela is definitely out with a torn groin.

The German champions have had a tough start to the Champions League after the 1997 winners returned following a nine-year absence and have just a point to show.

"There's no guarantees, but the chance is there for us to progress," said Dortmund coach Klopp with his side third in the German league behind leaders Bayern Munich.

"Worst case scenario we'll enjoy the experience, take the money and focus on the Bundesliga.

"So all doors are open, and we're ready for it all."
