Sebastian Vettel rued the amount of intermediate tyres available to teams after practice for the Belgian Grand Prix.
Changeable weather conditions prevented any substantial running, which also meant that track conditions were constantly evolving, making the intermediate the preferred tyre. With teams only allocated one 'free' set in the event of a wet session - which must be given back before FP3 - drivers are careful not to waste any rubber that might be needed on Saturday or Sunday, and Vettel said that it restricted how much running he could do.

"I think I learned as much as you today, I don't know, maybe a bit more," he said. "It was quite tricky because the weather changed all the time and it's a shame that in wet conditions we only have one free set of intermediates for the rest of the weekend, as you want to save tyres for Saturday and Sunday."
Despite his limited track time, Vettel said he was still able to gather some data on upgrades, but no information on Red Bull's relative competitiveness.
"We had a little bit of running in the dry and tested some updates; I think we got a decent result on those. It was difficult to judge lap times and the overall pace today, but the car feels okay. Let's see what we can do tomorrow."
