Amar'e Stoudemire Gets Treatment On Injured Ankle, May Miss Saturday's Game Against Sacramento Kings

"Amar'e Stoudemire couldn't finish in every way imaginable Thursday night.

The Knicks' All-Star power forward missed 13 of 17 shots and was forced to sit out the last five minutes of the Lakers' 99-82 victory after spraining his left ankle. The injury does not appear to be serious, but Stoudemire might not play Saturday night against the Kings in Sacramento.

"It's about the same as (Thursday)," Stoudemire said before being held out of Friday's practice on the USC campus. "It's still a little sore. Hopefully, it feels better (Saturday). If it feels better, then we'll see."

The Knicks, who have lost two straight after beating Boston in the Christmas Day season opener, return home following Saturday's game and will face Toronto at the Garden on Monday.

"We're going to bombard the ankle with treatment and see how it feels," Stoudemire said. "We want to take precautionary measures and make sure we're not overdoing it.""
