PLS Players Auction: Franchises pay high prices

After the auction of the Premier League Soccer franchises in Kolkata on Sunday, yesterday it was now the turn of the auction of the foreign players and coaches. With Haldia unsold there were 20 spot as players and five as coaches up for grabs. Indian players would be auctioned in the coming days.

The highest price was paid by Barasat for former Argentina striker Hernan Crespo at USD 840,000 followed closely by Siliguri, who paid USD 830,000 for Italian World Cup winning captain Fabio Cannavaro.

Former Portuguese international Fernando Couto was the highest paid coach at USD 240,000 by the Howrah franchise with all the other coaches set to be paid between USD 200,000 to 210,000.
