World No.1, Novak Djokovic, Soccer star, Lionel Messi and the F1-Racer, Sebastian Vettel have been listed on top for the 2012 Laureus World Sportsman Award. Tennis No.1, Djokovic having shown a gigantic performance this season will be battling with other sports celebrities in the world for the most prestigious honour.
Novak Djokovic performing extremely well this season in the has won-10 ATP World Tour Titles this season, including the Australian Open, Wimbledon and US Open, which has made him to end the season at No.1 rankings for the first time in his career.
Djokovic with his marvelous performance is the leading nominate in the 2012 Laureus World Sportsman Award. The Serbian No.1 will be competing for the prestigious honour along with the top international sporting champion in this year calendar along with the likes of Lionel Messi, Sebastian, Dirk Nowitzki, Derrick Rose, Mark Cavendish, Luke Donald, Usain Bolt, Robert Harting, Patrick Makau, Alastair Cook and Jonathan Trott.
Red Bull Driver, Sebastian Vettel won his second straight Formula One World Championship in 2011 with the title at the Japanese Grand Prix in.24-years old, Vettel has become the youngest driver to clinch two world titles.
Argentina's Lionel Messi, also 24, will be seeking to become the first team player to win the individual Laureus Sportsman Award, after another amazing year. The greatest footballer of his generation, he scored 53 goals in all competitions for Barcelona in the 2010/11 season. Messi played a significant role in Barcelona's Champions League success in 2011, their third in six years, scoring a total of 12 goals, including both goals in the 2-0 first leg semi-final win against arch-rivals Real Madrid.
2012 Laureus World Sports Awards Ceremony will be staged at Central Hall, Westminster, London, on February 6, 2011.
